CRRC Electric Helps New Zealand Build Carbon-free Cities

New Zealand has long been voted by people across the world as one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

To better preserve the fragile environment, New Zealand government launched the construction of electric public transport networks in 2016. In the next two years, CRRC Electric double-deckers powered by electricity and electric buses started operation in some major cities in the country.

In 2019, Auckland University of Technology became the first higher educational institution in the country to introduce zero-emission electric buses on its north and south campuses.

So far, NZbus, the largest bus operator in New Zealand, has already carried out multiple cooperation projects with CRRC Electric. Currently, it has put electric buses into service in Wellington, Auckland, and Christchurch, etc.

This year, NZbus will work with CRRC Electric to build the first urban electric bus fleet in Auckland with 12 units electric buses serving CityLink in the downtown area, providing transportation services for over 1.6 million passengers each year.

Equipped with EBS, CRRC Electric buses achieve higher stability in operation and provide more travel comforts for passengers. With higher agility and maneuverability, the vehicle is especially user-friendly for seniors, kids and those physically challenged.

2040, 1,360 units electric buses will be put into operation on the CityLink route, helping Auckland cut the carbon emissions by about 93,000 tons.
