On September 29, 2019, 140 units Golden Dragon ASTAR mini-buses were officially put into operation on the six mini-bus routes in Dongguan, Guangdong province. So far, these vehicles have been working smoothly for ten months, providing unprecedented travel convenience to local citizens.
Small in size, ASTAR mini-bus is highly flexible and pick up and drop off passengers at places most convenient to them. Measuring 5.99 meters in length, it has nine seats and can load 19 passengers at most. In addition, it has a standing space of about two meters high for passengers. With four USB portals and four plugs, it allows passenger to recharge their phones and other electronic devices anytime on the road
With a streamlined body structure, ASTAR is entirely powered by electricity and is able to drive 160 km each day. Normally, it takes only 58 minutes to get fully recharged.
On December 10, 2019, Songshanhu Public Transport Company, a subsidiary of Dongguan Bus Company, opened seven mini-bus routes; on May 1, 2020, Mini-bus route No.536 officially started operation. As as June this year, the mini-bus routes in Songshanhu had provided transport services to over 180,000 passengers.
