406 Units BYD Electric Buses to be Delivered to Bogota for Operation

Recently, BYD officially announced that it successfully secured a deal of 406 units electric buses from a customer in Columbia. All the buses will be delivered to Columbia in 2021 and be put on 15 public transport routes, providing more convenient services for local passengers.

By 2021, the total number of electric buses in operation in Bogota will reach 889 units. Among them, 876 units are branded with BYD, accounting for 98.5% of its electric bus fleet.

On December 17, 470 units BYD electric buses arrived in Bogota, the capital city of Columbia for operation.

BYD officially entered Columbia in 2012. One year later, it helped the country build the first electric taxi fleet in South America. In 2018, BYD delivered 64 units electric buses to Columbia.

So far, BYD has already made a solid presence in major countries South America, including Chile, Columbia, Ecuador, Brazil, Barbados, Panama, Costa Rica, Uruguay and Argentina. In recent years, its new energy vehicles have been making huge positive impacts on the cause of environmental protection in the region.
