New Microbus Plant Emerges

According to Chinese local government reports that Chery Automobile Company hopes to invest total 1.77 billion Yuan ($259.26 million) to build a new plant in central China"s Henan province to better meet the fast-growing microbus market. The new plant will produce microbuses, light-duty trucks and agricultural machines. The production capacity of microbus will reach 200,000 units per year.


Statistics from China Auto Association show that the sale of China-made microbuses surged by more than 60 percent year-on-year due to central government incentive policies.


Chery Automobile Company, based in Anhui province in central China, launched its microbus brand Karry in January and plans to offer four new microbus models this year.
