Foton bus product introduction meeting themed as “Humane Shaanxi, Technical AUV" which was co-hosted by Beiqi Foton AUV Bus Company, Shanghai Komman Vehicle Component System Co., Ltd. and Cummings (China) Investment Ltd. in Xi’an on November 13, 2009.
In recent years, as development of tourism in Shaanxi, the tourism market has more requirements on safety, environmentally friendly properties and comfort. Li Kangmei, chief of Xi’an traffic office, stated that he was rather happy to see such a product introduction meeting held by Foton to share together and he was hoping Foton bus for more excellent products with competitive price and great after-sales service to serve Shaanxi passenger transport market. It’s learned that in recent years, Foton bus took some 20%~30% tourism market shares.

Liu Guoqiang, deputy general manager of Beiqi Foton AUV Bus Company, said that Foton has achieved rapid progress after six years development. They sold more than 1,200 buses in 2006; and the number was more than 2,500 units with sales volumes as much as 900,000,000 RMB (about 131,815,991 USD); and this year they plan to sell 3750 units with sales volumes up to 2,200,000,000 RMB (about 322,216,867 USD); in 2010, Foton is going to sell 5,000 buses and after the establishment of Nanhai plant, the number will be 8,000 units in 2012. Mr. Liu introduced, as perfection of Foton bus production lines and breakthrough of its new energy technology, Foton will bring more and more reliable integral bodywork technology. In addition, cathodic electrophoresis etc techniques and their leading new energy bus manufacturing craftsmanship can provide more choice on products and greater after-sales service.
It’s reported that integral bodywork technique is the main characteristic of Foton buses in the product introduction meeting. After technology reform in 2008, Foton finished integral bodywork large bus production line, including both integral and semi-integral production lines. The production equipment introduced to make integral bodywork buses is leading in domestic bus builders, in which the body assembly is referring to advanced European like assembly plants.

In addition, Foton have series patent product technology in promotion of energy-saving products. Take the electric fan for example, it can both reduce energy consumption of the complete bus and also reduce noises made when running, and also the fan doesn’t need belt exchange and lubricating oil. Currently, all Foton products are equipped with the electric fans.
