According to the planning proposals of the six departments such as Ministry of Commerce, we strive to come to 10% growth in the export of automobiles and accessory in 2009-2010. The export amount will reach 8.5 billion USD in 2015 with the annual increase of about 20% and the strategy objective of 10% of the world export amount of the automobile products trade will be realized in 2020.
During the 11th Five-Year Plan and the 12th Five-Year Plan, we will continue to strengthen the medium & low end market of the developing countries; extend the medium & high end market of the developing countries as well as the foreign auto accessory market; stably step into the medium & low end market of the developed countries; cultivate our international automobile and accessory companies with strong science & technology innovation and independent core technologies; substantially support the export of the auto products of self-owned brand.
Affected by the financial crisis, there have been obvious problems in our export of auto products with big decline and severe condition since the last part of 2008. The proposals indicate that our auto products still own the international competitive advantages with big international market potential. Recently, the exporting of our auto and accessory is developing fast with the annual growth of almost 50% in 2001-2007 and the export amount of 30.2 billion USD in 2008. Overall, there still exists a big distance from the export achievements of the developed and newly industrializing countries& regions. Currently, we are in the start-up stage and these problems restrict our development such as the extensive export operation; lacking of the brand and sales network; weak independent innovation capability; poor added value of the export products, and the protection of the intellectual property to be enhanced.
