It is known on 11 Jan.2010 that Beijing will continue to enlarge the practical scale of the pure electric vehicles and put into 200 new electric buses and 1000 electric sanitation vehicles in 2010. And there will be the demonstration application scale of 5000 new energy vehicles in total in 2012.
The inauguration ceremony of the National Engineering Lab of Electric Vehicle was held in Beijing Institute of Technology in the morning of 11 January. The related projects center on the technology of the electric vehicles (EV) and finally aim at the national trial and testing base of EV. The relevant departments such as the Ministry of Science and Technology promoted the large-scale demonstration of the "Ten Cities & Thousand Units" to accelerate the industrialization of the new energy vehicles in the beginning of last year. That is to say that a thousand energy-saving and new energy vehicles tests are carried on in more than 10 cities with adequate conditions within three years. As one of the demonstration cities, Beijing will reach the practical application scale of 5000 new electric vehicles by 2012.
