Currently, Chinese government is very concerned about the environmental protection and makes plans to develop new-energy vehicles. Central government has launched a financial plan to support and boost new-energy autos.
According to the short-term plan, China will raise the production capacity of new-energy vehicles to 500,000 units next year and its sales volume will account for five percent of total auto sale. At the same time, the central government will also extend subsidies to help major cities to promote hybrid and electric autos, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and so on. By the year of 2012, nearly 60,000 new-energy vehicles will run in these cities. These vehicles include inner city buses, tourism coaches, taxies, etc. Government says total 13 cities will be the pilot sites.
