It is known on 21 February that the promotion of energy-saving and new energy vehicles will speed up in Nanchang in 2010. 50 energy-saving buses will be applied in No.2 bus route and 40 energy-saving taxis will work possibly ahead of time.
50 Energy-saving Buses on No. 2 Bus Route
1000 energy-saving and new energy vehicles will be promoted in the public service areas such as public transport, taxi, public affairs before 2010 in Nanchang, including 210 buses, 400 taxis and 290 vehicles for public affairs.
It is expected that there will be 50 hybrid power buses, electric buses on No.2 bus route in 2010. And 70 new energy buses will drive in No. 5 bus route in 2011, 70 new energy buses run in No. 15 and No.16 bus routes in 2012.
40 Energy-saving Taxis Get Ready
The first 40 energy-saving fuel-electric hybrid power taxis will be possibly operated during the Spring Festival. It is understood that about 11.7 million USD will be invested to promote the development of new energy vehicle industry and the construction of the related service facility in Nanchang during the period from 2009 to 2012. 315 charging cupboards and 4 charging stations for electric vehicles will be gradually founded in the whole city before 2012.
