Sales volumes of JAC vehicles amounted to 322,000 units, up 55% year on year, among which 123,400 passenger vehicles were sold out , up 111.8% year on year in 2009.
This year their sales target is 500,000 units, including 300,000 passenger vehicles. Zuo Yan’an, chairman of Anhui JAC Motors Co., Ltd., was exclusively interviewed by our correspondent on March 8.

Q: What’s the percentage of commercial vehicles in development of JAC? Would you pay much attention on passenger vehicles?
A: We have never changed our position of putting light trucks as our core business, and we will forge three levels of high quality vehicles towards countryside and overseas markets and internationally advanced production, research, and sales system.
Q: Would you please talk about your international layout in the future?
A: we have two international layout strategies, region concepts and export factors. And we will start from those countries without auto manufacturing industry, and we will export products there, then try to produce vehicles, and at last we will export our culture. Currently we are the shareholder of our plant in Vietnam, and the plant is going to start in April.
Q: I noticed that you have raised suggestion of making up industry development plan in national level, and could you tell me the reason and aim?
A: If there is no clear development strategy for China auto industry, there will be lots of periodic problems. Since our aim in fifty years is to become a strong country, auto industry must be taken as a strategy. American auto industry can be taken as an example.
A: Central government pays much attention on research and development of new energy vehicles, and what did JAC do to get such great achievements?
doubt that a new energy vehicle is future development trend. JAC has developed electric large coaches, and also the first bus line with thirty electric buses. And we also make up Anhui new energy vehicle institute to try to make breakthrough in core technology.
