Purchasing agreement of fifty Foton AUV hybrid buses by Changsha government was signed in Changsha on April 19, 2010. And Foton Motors donated two new energy buses valuing 2,600,000 Yuan (USD) to Changsha government for demonstration operation in advance.

It is learned that Foton AUV hybrid buses adopt parallel connection directly with compact structure and light weights. The bus features energy-saving and low emission, and fuel consumption is at least 25% less than average buses. And the bus represents the highest level in domestic hybrid buses and coaches, as viewed by 2010 new energy bus selecting committee.
Foton has continued developing on new energy buses for many years. They started to layout new energy vehicle since 2003, and always place “development and application of new energy vehicles”as core enterprise culture. Beijing New Energy Vehicle Design and Manufacturing Base, mainly Foton Motors, was formally established on December 28, 2008. This is the first new energy design and manufacturing base in domestic auto industry, and currently it is forming general demonstrating role national wide.
As hard core of domestic commercial vehicles, Foton Motors is always responding to central government’s call of energy-saving and emission reduction, and they also made up their own development strategy. Their production and sales capacity of new energy vehicles will amount to 11,500 units till 2010, and the percentage will rise to 15% in sales volumes till 2015.
