Foton Motors New Base Settles in Changsha

Foton Motors is planing to establish a plant in Changsha to produce commercial vehicles. And the plant will strongly support Foton"s global strategy. And Changsha is also purchasing new energy vehicles from Foton to pratice energy-saving and emisisn reduction commitments.

Foton new production base with 200,000 unit production capacity was signed on April 19, and the base will be concentrating on new energy vehicles.

 

As one of the thirteen new energy vehicle demonstrating cities, Changsha ordered fifty Foton AUV hybrid buses, and Foton provided two new energy buses for test drive in Changsha.

 

Changsha Auto Company founded in 1999 is an important support for Foton in South China and Foton global development.

 

Production and sales volumes of Changsha Motors were 100,000 units last year, up 42% over 2008. And they exported over 10,000 vehicles. And their gross industrial output amounted nearly five billion Yuan (7,352,941USD).

 

And this time they will invest 3.2 billion Yuan to the new base in Changsha with 300,000 whole vehicles production capacities.

 

It is learned that the plant will start to establish before October, 2010, and it will be put into use in 2012.


 
The Foton AUV hybrid buses adopt overlap mode directly to ensure sufficient power with at least 25% less fuel consumptions than traditional vehicles, and 30% less emission of oxynitride.

 

As one of the new energy vehicles demonstrating city, Changsha is ahead in industrialization and marketing of new energy vehicles. Two main bus operators bought 252 hybrid buses at a time.
