On 12 June 2010, the transfer ceremony of first 50 new energy buses for Hengtong Bus and public transport group in the Hengtong industry park. Wan Gang, the vice president of CPPCC and the minister of Ministry of Science and Technology, Zhang Laibin, the vice minister of Ministry of Science and Technology, Tong Xiaoping, the deputy mayor of Chongqing municipal, and the leaders from Chongqing Public Traffic Holding Group Co.,Ltd. and 200 staff of Hengtong Bus witnessed it.

New energy buses of Hengtong Bus deploy gas-electric hybrid power and some leading technologies, which offers new choice for the new energy bus market. The principal of Hengtong Bus said that "The group of gas-electric hybrid power city buses to be formally applied is longer 1-1.2 meters, 4 more seats (up to 43 seats, the maximal passenger capacity of 100 people) than the current transit buses."
