Foton Motor to Meet Euro V Standards in 2011

Foton Motor is making efforts to improve the emission standards to Euor Ⅴ even Euro Ⅵ in a few years.

Foton Motor has declared to research engines meeting Euro Ⅵ emission standards with Cummins recently, and the engines are able to be equipped in vehicle till 2014. In 2011, some of Foton vehicles will equip Euro V engines produced by Foton Cummins Company, and they will become the first domestic auto manufacturers reaching Euro V emission standards.


  
Every upgrade of emission standards means a new adjustment in automobile industry. A national Ⅵ emission standard, which is equivalent to Euro Ⅵ emission standards, will be initialed in July this year. And Euro Ⅵ emission standards will be implemented in Europe in 2014. Foton is going to research engines with Euro Ⅵ emission standard this year, and this is faster than domestic auto industry as well as European counterparts. And they hope that they can excel other competitors by developing higher standards engines. Foton vehicles with Euro Ⅴ engines will be sold in Europe in 2011 and the vehicles with Euro Ⅵ emission standards will be seen in European markets till 2014.
