King Long Holds AT Technology Experience Activity with Allison

Mr. Michael Headly, the vice president of Allison Transmission and Mr. Xu Xiangdong, the general manager of Xiamen King Long United Automotive Industry Co., Ltd. specially came to Haikou and paid attention to this important technology experience activity. Mr. Michael Headly mentioned in his address that, "It  belongs to everybody for the fun of the technology experience of automatic transmission and for driving the bus today." Mr. Xu showed his confidence of  the future in his speech, "Let us embrace the era of automatic transmission for buses together." The labor intensity for driving bus is great and it means simple control and easy driving bus to enjoy the driving today.

The expert representatives from over 20 public transport companies and the delegates from several professional media experienced the features of automatic transmission such as safety, comfort, easy operation and strong power together.

 

The buses for test driving were provided by King Long, including XMQ6900G equipped with Allison T280R with integral hydrodynamic retarder and AT; XMQ6117Y tourist coach, XMQ6900G bus and XMQ6117Y tourist coach equipped with Allison T310R for test riding on road, experts" checking of the operation conditions of engine and transmission related to gearing up, power output, throttle opening and fuel consumption and people"s learning of the working process and technical concept.

 

This activity is well organized. It refers to specific explanations of technical theory, test driving, test riding, real-experience of technical theory and practice. A series of activities make many leaders of the public transport companies surprised. Xu Yamin, the manager of Technology Department of Hangzhou Xiaoshan Public Transport Company showed that, "The operation is easy even for the drivers without much driving experience and there is no need to worry about sudden flameout and  frequent shift. It is beneficial to reduce the traffic accidents." Manager Xu said that Xiaoshan Public Transport Company purchased 20 King Long buses equipped with Allison AT in April 2009. The application condition of these vehicles was quite good without any breakdown. Through this activity, the company further learnt about the excellent performance of King Long for energy consumption and deepened confidence and confirmation of King Long products.

 

Chen Jing, the Market Manager for China and Asia Region of  Allison Transmission expressed that, "During the cooperation with China mainstream bus builders, it is impressive for us by the advanced matching technology of King Long, and this is also one of the reasons why we choose to hold test driving activity with King Long together." Meanwhile, it is known from Allison Transmission that the anther important reason for their choice is the creativity and advancement of King Long among China bus manufacturers.

Mr. Xu from King Long said that, "The proportion of city buses is increasing in the sales of King Long buses. Based on the sales data in recent three years, the sales of buses account for around 30% of the total. The sales of the buses equipped with AT show rising trend in the total sales for King Long and possibly come to about 15% in 2010."
