Currently, the first gas-electric hybrid power city buses with the completely independent intellectual property rights were put into operation on No.818 bus route in Chongqing, which were developed by Yuchai Machinery Co.,Ltd. and Chongqing Hengtong Bus Co., Ltd. together.
This model adopts Yuchai hybrid power assembly, which has completed sample vehicle and announcement tests in 7 vehicle factories, test operation in 5 cities and gained customers" unanimous approval. According to Wan Chang, the chief enginner of Hengtong new nergy vehicles, the energy-saving of this model can reach over 25%, the cost of more than RMB 2000 Yuan can be saved per month, more than 500 kilogram emission can be reduce per year and almost 10,000 cubic meters gas can be saved, compared with that of the conventional city buses. Lei Jun, the general manager of Chongqing Public Transport Group also fully confirmed the batch launching of the new energy buses with low carbon as well as environment protection.
