As a bus manufacturer for thirty-five years, Changan Bus has some new changes as we found by visiting the company in Dingzhou in July.
As explained by General Manager An Jianjun, there is no contradiction between focusing on quality and markets expansion, if they are capable of doing well in some mature markets, why not trying some new areas?
Changan Bus has big advantages on 6-8m buses, and they have comparatively large bus model inventory of such lengths in Beijing and Heilongjiang. And sales of school buses take over 20% on domestic and overseas markets. And they needs do some efforts to develop markets in South China.
After half a year efforts, Deputy general manager Liu Zhongling is rather confident to finish their annual sales goals. Till now they have sold 250 buses in Guangzhou, some CNG buses were purchased by buyers in Sichuang and Chongqing, so are Hunan and Hubei, Yunnan, Guizhou and Jiangsu.
In terms of facilities, their 20,000 m2 new plants are going to be put into use in September, including painting lines, chassis lines and mini bus modification lines. At that time, they will have four assembly lines with production capacity up to 10,000 units one year.
Suitable, fuel-efficient and reliable are advantages of Changan Bus, and they also have many years experience on chassis production. However, refinement of their products does have some gap than Yutong and King Long, and the improvement of painting will definitely help their competitiveness.
Changan Bus also released some new products this year, such plug-in hybrid buses, MAN-style city buses, 10m monocoque buses and new etc. And their new energy buses will be firmed supported by Chanan Group.
