The Sales of New Energy Buses Breaks 3000 Units in Jan.-Jul. 2010

In 2007-2008, the market demand on new energy buses remains 1500-2000 units in China. In 2009, the production and the sales of new energy buses is 4911 units and 4711 units respectively, large and medium buses accounting for about more than 90%.

In the first months of this year, the sales volume of new energy buses is 3817 units, accounting for over 98% of total. The sales mainly shows in April and in May with more than 600 units. Large and medium buses still the main force for commercialization of new energy vehicles.

 

The biggest growth of new energy bus shows in large coaches with above 10-meter body. The market proportion of light buses is small and of large coaches is big. The sales growth rate of new energy buses is big per year, which indicated the great potential of new energy bus products. The mainstream bus builders regard the development of new energy buses as strategy objective in the future and made great investment because firstly, they comply with the national industry policy and lead environment-protection; secondly, they intend to improve brand image through new energy bus products. During development of new energy buses, many companies invest a lot on the core technology and key parts of new energy buses such as battery material, control system, ultra-capacitor and related support facilities. It makes active impact on the industrialization and commercialization of new energy buses.
