According to the requirement of "Proposal of Alleviation of Traffic Jamming in Urban District in Bejing –Phase Seven (2010)", it plans to use school buses in some pilot cities in Beijing. It is known that the related department has sent out "Questionnaire for School Buses" to the students in some middle schools and elementary schools.
According to the parents, the questionnaire refers to the basis information about means to school, whether the parents will accompany, the distance from home to school, also involves the condition of the current school bus service provider such as payment, the reason of failing to use school bus service (for example, the current operation of school bus company is not standardized, lacking of safe guarantee; unacceptable price (what the price range you can accept per month?).
Based on the questionnaire, the new school buses will be equipped with professional management staff, security staff and GPS system. Also the government will lead and standardize the existing school buses and realized standardized operation; the price will in the acceptable and reasonable range; the school bus will pick up students at the plot access; the government, school and operation companies will define responsibilities; the school buses are ensured to be in good condition with safe performance to attract parents to help the students to choose to take school bus.
It is revealed the government would make related measures such as no entry of cars around the school during school time; permitting of the access to the special bus road and specific parking lot. Parents advised that apart from good condition, regular maintenance and driver in good health, they hoped that the government could issue traffic management measures that conduct some priority to school bus to confirm safety for both school bus and students.
