On 5 November 2010, the 25th The World Electric Vehicle Symposium and Exposition (EVS) was held in Shenzhen. It is known that the exhibitors from more than 300 auto and auto components companies in over 20 countries attended it. At 3:00 p.m., China electric buses ran in the city with driving range of 55 kilometers.
It is revealed by the organizer that 3 domestic electric buses are the highlight points on the expo and it is the first time to show in Shenzhen: 12-meter, 10.5-meter double-deck and 13.7-meter sightseeing bus (SDL6120EVG, SDL6100EVG and SDL6140EVSG). It is know from the bus builder that these are all newly developed electric buses at the cost of about 1.3 million Yuan. The price is about 500 thousand Yuan due to national subsidy (500,000Yuan) and local government subsidy (300,000 Yuan).
The high capacity of electric bus can take 86 passengers (usually the large bus carries about 50 people) and 100 ones in rush hours. The full charging can afford to the driving of around 380 kilometers while over 200 kilometer for conventional city bus for one day.
In addition, the operation cost of electric bus is just about one of elevenths of that of conventional diesel bus and there is no harmful gas emission for electric bus, beneficial to the environment.
