Changan to Invest Ten Billion Yuan to Boost New Energy Vehicles

Xu Liuping, chairman of Changan Motors, stated recently that Changan will invest ten billion Yuan to promote development of new energy vehicles guided by their new brand strategy.

  
Changan Motor kept developing vehicles with small displacement and popularize new energy technologies on passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Till now, 80% of CHangan vehicles are cars with small displacements. And Changan Motor also got quite a few results on hybrid, pure electric, solar energy, hydrogen-powered and fuel cell vehicles. Changan has launched the first domestic hybrid car, Jiexun, and their pure electric vehicles Benben mini has also rolled off from production line in December 2009.


Mr. Xu said that average fuel consumption for cars will be 4.6L/100km with CO2 emission below 107g/km till 2020. And their production and sales capacity will amount to six million units, and 15% of them will be new energy vehicles in 2010.
