Although it is a rather good year for many bus builders this year, many industrial insiders predict that next year sales of China buses may be tough, even facing heavy declining.
"Bus markets were rather bad in the first half year in 2009, and it was getting better in the second half year. The base sales last year was low due to the slump sales in the first half year,” said our source from Higer Bus. The general good sales of buses in the first half year were continuing the situation in the second half year last year, but it started to slow down currently. So we can see that the sales in the first half year next year may be rather bad, even decreasing.
However, Zhu Guoqiang, Duputy general manager of Kinglong, deems that sales growth of buses next year may be slow down, but it will still increase steadily.
According to sources published by governments, China bus industry and bus markets may face significant changes in the following few years, and this may also influence bus sales next year:
China will boost bus industry integration by raising industry entry threshold to improve the general competitiveness of China bus industry. And also the extensive form of industry expansion will be changed based on industry upgrade.
Zou Huxiao, president of bus branch of China Road Committee, explained that firstly, the existing bus industry with many small bus builders will be regulated by related policies; secondly, it rules that no new vehicles could be put into operation if the actual passenger transportation is lower than 70%. Thirdly, currently there are so many bus brands and models which are always disturbing transport industry, and this may also be changed by policies. Finally, public transport will be continuously encouraged by central government to regulate passenger transport markets profoundly.
