Zhongtong Bus Wins "Excellent Electric Vehicle Builder 2010"

On 29 December2010， Zhongtong Bus won two awards for electric vehicles:"Excellent Electric Vehicle Builder 2010" and "Electric Vehicle 2010" for LCK6128EV electric buses. Li Dusheng, the Minister of Management Department of Zhongtong Bus showed that their effort on technical innovation as well as market promotion contributed to the achievements of Zhongtong electric vehicles they made today.





Great Effort on Technology Development


Since 2004, Zhongtong Bus has started new energy buses and set up the special team for research & development. It invested 156 million Yuan on labs for the key technologies for electric buses, special production line for new energy buses and achieved many patents (64 issued patents and 6 inventive patents by far). In May 2006, Zhongtong Bus cooperated with the domestic famous universities such as Tsinghua University to successfully develop serial and parallel hybrid power city buses. With 5 years" working, it has owned over 10 models, referring to hybrid power, electric city buses and electric tourist coaches.





Active Market Promotion


According to Mr.Li, more than 400 Zhongtong new energy buses have been ordered (about 300 units having been delivered), which occupies the market shares of 10%. The products covered the markets in Shandong, Zhejiang, Tianjin, Fujian, Shanghai, Taiwan and Hainan. During the period of the twelfth five-year plan, the company would further promote new energy buses with higher cost performance, increase sales and strive for the market shares of 15%-20% by 2013.


On 1 December 2010, it was known from Li Haiping, the Chairman of Zhongtong Bus that "Zhongtong environmental buses exporting to Singapore got customers’ high approval after the tests of full load, ascending and descending for two months. The fuels-saving ratio reaches 20%. The buses will be fully taken into considering in the tender."
