The first 100 city buses with Euro 5 emission standards purchased by Beijing Transport Company Started to run on Jan. 3.
The buses were deployed to three suburbs bus lines, and these are the first bus lines with Euro 5 buses in China. As much as 43% lower nitric oxide will be emitted compared with traditional diesel engine buses.
Beijing Public Transport Group has raised emission standards for city buses in 1999, 2002, 2006 and 2010. At least 30%-50% pollutants will reduced each time. Currently 45% city buses running in Beijing are over Euro 4 standard, similar to developed countries.
And the newly purchased city buses will be all environmental friendly buses, including hybrid buses electric buses and pure electric city buses.
