700 More New Energy City Buses Adds to Shanghai in 2013

Shanghai will promote usage of new energy city buses, and 700 city buses will be used for many routes in 2013, and hybrid city buses will be used in urban areas and CNG city buses will be used in suburbs.
20 million tons of coal is consumed by transportation, nearly 20% of all. And all the energy consumption has declined last year, and public transport decreased by 18%. And during the 12th five-plan period, energy consumption will be contained to 27.5 million tons of coal. 2,361 new energy vehicles have been registered till end of last year, and 2,115 of which are city buses. And there are 397 new energy city buses running in Shanghai, and the figure will be 700 units in 2013.
