Ankai Gets Orders from World Famous Cities Again

Since Ankai double-decker buses entered London of the Great Britain, the birth land of double-decker buses, and shined as exporting representative of China high-end mechanical and electronic products of a large quantity  during 2012 London Olympics, Ankai bus together with The Big Bus Company, the worldwide renowned sightseeing bus operator, signed a purchasing contract of 23 open-topped double-decker buses. All these buses will serve as sighting seeing buses of golden tourist routes in world’s famous tourist cities, such as Paris of France, Budapest, of Hungary, Washington and Miami of the United States, and Dubai of UAE, and welcome tourists around the world.


Operation in London wins customers


It is reported that this is the first time for China double-decker sightseeing buses to be exported to famous tourist cities besides Dubai (where Ankai double-decker sightseeing buses have been exported back to 2008), which is a symbol that Ankai has occupied a vital position in sightseeing buses’ market of world tourism. What’s more, the vision “to become worldwide leading bus supplier and make Ankai bus available in world’s famous cities”, which is kept talked about to media in different places by Wang Xianfeng, general manager of Ankai International Company, is on the way to realize step by step instead of only a vision.

As is well known, product standards exported to western developed countries are fairly strict. When it comes to bus, the standard is even harsh. EU WVTA (Whole Vehicle Type Approval) is known to be different from some previous single approvals, in which the most difficult thing of it is not only product certification, but also the strict requirements of product consistence assurance capability and quality control system in the process of manufacturing and selling. It is a comprehensive survey for enterprises in manufacturing capacity and product management system to pass EU WVTA. Once passed, it means that the license selling in the European market is gained. All the EU members must accept the approval. DOT approval of the States, EU WVTA and approval of Japan consists of top three approval system of world automobile, which is of strict and complex requirements. EPA13 China bus first confronts EPA13


It is reported that buses of this order are all equipped with Cummins engines, in which vehicles exported to the States for the first time are required to be up to EPA13 emission standard. EPA13 is the current highest emission standard in the States, which is equivalent to Euro 6 emission standard. According to this EPA13, nitric oxide and dust particle vehicle emits reduce respectively 80% and 66% compared with Euro 5. This is also the trend of vehicle development in the future with less hazardous substance emission.

Therefore, strict discussion and argument are taken from different perspectives, such as technological research and development, manufacture, technological process, study on standards and the trial and error approach. From what we have been known, there are over 1,000 tests for engine installation in EPA13, much exceeding all the tests for all the buses currently. Whip test is even needed on the small holder of engine pipelines. For two necessary and essential processing units for this kind of engine, it takes more space, which brings higher requirements of engine cabins and product technology.
