In Dalian Public Bus & Passenger Transit Group’s open bid, DEUTZ (Dalian) Engine Co., Limited stands out from many other Chinese domestic motor manufacturers and wins an order of 557 engines for 4 types of buses, accounting for 78% of the bid value.
Dalian Public Bus & Passenger Transit Group purchases 713 buses in total, a new high in procurement history. Since the fist DEUTZ engines installed in Dalian’s public buses, the proportion of DEUTZ motor has been rising all the way. After this bid, approximate 2,800 engines are purchased and almost 3,000 units of DEUTZ products in total are sold to the company, covering BF6M1013 and BF6M2012 series products compliant with previous China Ⅱ to today’s China Ⅳ with engine power ranging from 180 to 260, including 260 hp NG products. The 557 units engines this time involve 116 BF6M2012—18E4 engines for 8.9m buses, 131 BF6M1013—24E4 engines for 10m buses, 52 BF6M1013—26E4 engines for 12m buses and 258 BF6M1013—26E4N NG engines for 12m buses. It should be noticed that the 557 units of this bid are all compliant with China Ⅳ standard. This is the first time for Dalian Public Bus & Passenger Transit Group to purchase China Ⅳ products this year. In November, 2012, the group purchased 122 China Ⅳ-compliant engines for 8.9m buses for the first time. Furthermore, it’s also the first time DEUTZ to apply its 258 BF6M1013—26E4N NG engines to the company’s LNG buses.
In the past, 80% of Dalian buses only meets for China Ⅱ and below standards. Over recent years, Dalian municipal government, to carry out “Blue Sky Program” of Liaoning province, starts to work on reduction of tail gases by buying environment friendly buses such LNG buses. It plans to apply 1,000 LNG buses in Dalian during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period.
