Deputy Director of Higer Bus Technical Center Li Chun concluded that the advantages of Higer Generation III school bus were reflected in safety upgrade and intelligent upgrade.
1. Increasing the Density of Body Frame
The damages caused by rollover, the culprit of mass casualties in bus accidents, can be reduced by consolidating the bus body, one way of which is to increase the density of the frame of the cage-type bus. It"s said the frame density of Higer Gen III rises from 0.9m to 1.3m and side window pillars are added.
2. Bumper Energy Absorption Design
To improve the crash safety, Higer makes numerous studies and experiments and it tuns out 2mm steel plate of front bumper works best in energy absorption. That"s what is used in Higer Gen III school bus.
3. Passenger Door and Sight Window
Moving the passenger door forward relieves the driver from the neck discomfort and distraction due to turning his head to check the students, and the sight window added in the lower part of the passenger door enables the driver to be aware of the students around the front wheel.
4. New Alarm System
Higer Gen III school bus is equipped with a new alarm system to avoid leaving the children behind in the bus. The system connected to the motor and the door shall issue warning once the driver turns off the engine and opens the door. The driver must go through the bus to disable the alarm at the back in case of the overstaying children.
5. HIS Stable System
HIS system is co-developed by Higer and parts supplier to stable the bus facing bumpy road or sharp turn lest the barycenter deviate.
6. Alcohol Detector
Higer Gen III school bus is equipped with alcohol detector to prevent the driver from drunk driving. It"s said Higer Gen III is the only school bus with the detector.
7. G-BOS II for School Bus
Besides, Higer launches G-BOS II for school bus. "From the market feedback we can see the competent departments of school bus operation, such as governments, schools and kindergartens, are more interested in this version." said Mr. Li.
