The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company was recently named a Thomson Reuters 2013 Top 100 Global Innovator recognizing its achievements as one of the world’s most innovative companies. This is the third straight year that Goodyear has been recognized by Thomson Reuters.
“This recognition is further evidence of Goodyear’s ability to drive innovation. The market-back approach we take to delivering new products is a critical focus for us in the competitive global tire industry and helps us align our R&D efforts with Goodyear’s global strategy. This ultimately helps us deliver sustainable value to the marketplace,” stated Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard J. Kramer.
From the first all-season radial tire to environmentally friendly concepts like soybean oil and BioIsoprene in tires, Goodyear has an established reputation as a leader in tire innovation.
“The Thomson Reuters Top 100 Global Innovators once again prove that they are the companies driving growth, creating jobs and pioneering new products and services,” said David Brown, managing director, Thomson Reuters IP Solutions.
The program, an initiative of Thomson Reuters’ IP Solutions business, honors the 100 corporations and institutions around the world that are at the heart of innovation as measured by a series of proprietary patent-related metrics.
