On recent Shandong Heavy Industry & Weichai Power Yangtze River Delta Strategic Conference, a black large bus of Wertstar series aroused profound attraction and interest of Chinese and foreign guests, which got a nickname of “Black King Kong” by audience. It is learned that newly off-line “Black King Kong” has already got orders of over 200 units from the western market. “Black King Kong” is expected to enter the market in Mar. of 2014.

“Black King Kong” mainly for travel passenger transport
In assembly plant of Weichai Asiastar new factory, a newly off-line black large bus equipped with rear wheels of two rows, which are longer than any other bus. This is the newly exhibited “Black King Kong”—the largest coach in China.
Lu Xiaoli, director of Asiastar automobile institute, told our reporter that the length of “Black King Kong” is 13.7m, which was the coach of the largest dimension. It is mainly used in long-distance travel and passenger transportation.
But, why it is called “Black King Kong”? In fact, body frame of this black bus is of imported high-tense zinc square steel, which can provide high tense and high tenacity. Shell is of HSC which cannot be fractured or deformed if hit by iron hammer. Therefore, foreign guests gave it a nickname--“Black King Kong” due to its unbreakable body and black appearance.
U Beam Ensures Security
“Black King Kong” can achieve its 42° angle when roll over
Lu Xiaoli introduced to us, “In the process of bus development, we have a patent—U Beam.” Unlike the general joint of roof frame and body frame of bus, U structure is of coherent body frame and beam to ensure maximum security when roll over or lean.
Lu Xiaoli continued, “When testing on roll-over platform, ‘Black King Kong’ rolls over at 42° angle exceeding EU standard of 36°.” This should be owing to high-tense zinc square steel as well as unique structure of U beam.
Humanized design
Operator’s seat can be backwards in case of collision
During our interview, Lu Xiaoli mentioned about one humanized design, “In case of vehicle collision, sensor on the bus would be of auto-induction. Operator’s seat would be moving backwards so that injury or death of driver by extrusion can be avoided at the extreme.” As a matter of fact, humanized design on “Black King Kong” is more than that. Stairs between seats and aisle usually get passengers tripped. In order to avoid that, designers set up glittering strip at the edge of passenger area to remind passengers of stairs anytime. Meanwhile, when launched into market officially, “Black King Kong” can be customized.
Sales
Already gets intention orders of 200 units
“Black King Kong” of the largest dimension in China has already achieved something by getting over 200-unit intention orders from America, Australia and Canada. Security, humanized design and free configuration get “Black King Kong” favored by foreign customers.
As for domestic market, owing to declare product announcement and level, it would be in the market in March of 2014. Since then, citizens can take local “Black King Kong” in their commercial or travel journey.
