ZF to Offer Driveline, Chassis Technology for New Buses in Hungary

Automotive parts supplier ZF Lenksysteme has received a contract from the Hungarian transport company Volánbusz to offer driveline and chassis technology for new vehicles of the urban public transport authorities in Budapest and Pécs

  Automotive parts supplier ZF Lenksysteme has received a contract from the Hungarian transport company Volánbusz to offer driveline and chassis technology for new vehicles of the urban public transport authorities in Budapest and Pécs.


The order includes a total of 172 buses including 106 MAN Lion"s City buses and the remaining Volvo 7900"s. All the city buses will be equipped with the ZF-EcoLife six speed automatic transmission.


The new vehicles will also feature chassis technology AV 132 low-floor driven axle from ZF.


These commercial vehicle components from ZF will contribute to reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.


ZF buses & coaches business unit axle and transmission systems head Andreas Moser said: "In modern local passenger traffic, environmental friendliness and cost-effectiveness are equally important, and I am convinced that we can be particularly excited about the new major orders from Hungary because our driveline and chassis technology excellently meets both requirements."
