Ford is amidst the launching of a completely renewed Transit commercial vehicle range, not only intended for the European market but planned to become a worldwide concept. Part of the new range are also a number of minibuses, including a 18-seater.
The new minibuses are part of a 24-month renewal of Ford’s entire commercial vehicle range for Europe. The all-new Transit is based on a state-of-the-art global platform and replaces the heavier Transit derivatives in Ford’s commercial vehicle line-up, joining the successful new Transit.
The standard Transit powertrain features the fuel-efficient 2.2-litre Duratorq diesel engine with a choice of three power ratings (100 PS, 125 PS, 155 PS) and a 6-speed manual transmission; customers also have the option of 125 PS and 155 PS HDT6 engines which meet the Euro HDT VI emission standards.
The all-new Transit also offers extended 2-year/50,000 km service intervals, with the time required for scheduled maintenance over 150,000 km cut from 5.4 to 4.2 hours over the outgoing model.
