According to the latest data released by CAAM, Foton Vans witnessed a 30% increase in the first quarter in 2014, five times higher than that of the sector as a whole in China, which went up by 5% in the same period. Some insiders point out that Foton"s dramatic expansion can be attributed to its newly released MP-S series vehicles, which represent a new generation of business vehicles and have won the Business Vehicle of the Year.
Currently, Foton MP-S series business vehicles are manufactured by Foton Vans Shandong Branch. Huang Zhengyi, head of the branch says that the factory covers an area of 2,200 mu with a building area of 520,000 m2. Built in two phases and four stages, it is the largest van production base in Asia, capable of manufacturing 600,000 vehicles.
To further expand its market, Foton Vans is now promoting its View G7 series, which made its debut in Hainan Vehicle Exhibition and will be officially put into market in this month. Priced at around 90,000 RMB (14,499 USD), the new vehicle boasts more attractive appearance and higher comfortability. Moreover, it has made breakthroughs in several aspects. For example, its loading capacity, in particular, goes up to 1.8 tons, up by 20%. Adopting high-strength vehicle body, View G7 reaches higher safety standards.
