On the morning of Apr. 17, a grand ceremony was held in Shanghai to mark the entry of the first batch of Youngman plug-in electric JNP6120BEV1 citybus into Shanghai urban area. The 60 units of green vehicles are assigned to work on the bus route No. 8, No. 15 and No. 28. In the near future, nearly 300 Youngman electric buses are expected to operate in Shanghai, contributing to the city"s efforts to cut emission and protect the urban environment.
In the face of increasingly serious smoggy weather, Shanghai Municipal Government is planning to make great efforts to push the application of new energy buses. According to the White Paper on the Public Transport in Shanghai, the city"s introduction of new energy buses in the future should be no less than 50% of its total purchases. As the large public transport company in the city, Shanghai Bus is planning to replace thousands of citybuses, over 60% of which will be electric buses or other new energy vehicles.
So far, trolley buses powered by electricity have been in operation in Shanghai for a century, witnessing the ups and downs of the city. Currently, governments at various levels are sparing no efforts to solve a number of urban problems, such as energy crisis, environmental pollution, traffic jams. Under such a backdrop, 100% pollution-free electric buses are bringing hope to urban citizens for more cleaner environment.
Youngman Automobile Group has long been developing electric citybuses in China. In 2005, it rolled out China"s first low-floor trolley bus. After nearly a decade"s further research and hard work, the bus manufacturer has independently developed plug-in electric buses, which are working in Beijing, Hangzhou, and a number of cities abroad.
