Pure Electric Buses Expected to Rise to 4,000 Units in Pearl River Delta by 2015

According to Guangdong Provincial Government, the province is now planning to put 45,000 units of new energy vehilces in the area by Jun. 2016.

To achieve the target, Guangzhou intends to have 10,000 green vehicles in operation then, Shenzhen 25,000, and the rest cities of the whole province 10,000. In 2014, the number of pure electric buses newly purchased should be no less than 10% in Guangdong for bus replacement and addition. Starting from this year, the percentage will rise by 10 per cent each year till the new purchases amount to 50% of the total. As planned, the Pearl River Delta is expected to boast a fleet of 4,000 pure electric buses by the end of 2015.

To meet rising number of electric buses, the province is now planning to build a number of recharging facilities across its urban areas.
