On Jun. 7, a grand ceremony was held to commemorate the Cummins ISG series heavy engines rolling off production line in the new factory of Beijing Foton-Cummins. To meet the global demands, ISG series heavy engines are developed based on Cummins state-of-art technologies and competitive R&D capacities, featuring high fuel economy, easy operatability and high reliability.
ISG series heavy engine has six straight cylinders. Currently, two different models, including ISG11L and ISG12L have been rolled out to the market with a power range of 310-512 horse power (228-382 kilowatt).
During five years of R&D, ISG series engines have gone through 60,000 hours testing and 6 million km road testing. Thanks to this, they are highly adaptable to varied working environments. Immediately after their debut in early 2014, they could satisfy Euro IV, China IV and Euro V emission standards. At the same platform, they can be upgraded to Euro VI emission standards.
ISG series engines are produced by the brand new factory of Beijing Foton Cummins Engines Co., Ltd. With a total investment of 2.2 billion RMB, the new factory covers an area of 66,000 square meters. Currently, the factory boasts an annual production capacity of 60,000 units. When market grows, it is capable of rolling out 120,000 units of engines.
