The Chinese-built Scania Touring, which was launched in a number of European markets in 2009, is coming to the UK later this year.
The Touring is assembled on a dedicated production line which Scania says enables it to maintain full control of manufacturing and quality. To gain direct operational experience and to refine the design of the Touring Scania has been using Tourings to carry staff between the Stockholm area and the company’s headquarters and production centre in Södertälje.
“The Scania Touring is a versatile, high-quality, comfortable and quiet vehicle which is equally at home in the city or on long-distance touring,” says Tony Tomsett, bus, coach and engine sales director for Scania Great Britain. “Furthermore, the fact that this is a fully-built-up Scania product means that customers will benefit from a single point of contact when it comes to aftersales requirements. As such, we are confident the Scania Touring will soon establish itself as a firm favourite with Great Britain’s coach operators.”
