Yutong Bus announced that it sold 4793 units buses of all types in June 2014, down by 13.9% year on year, of which large buses, medium buses and light buses took -0.7%, -26.7% and 17.0% respectively. The cumulative sales of the first half year is 23389 units, up by -6.0% on last year, of which large buses, medium buses and light buses took -10.0%, -10.4% and 43.4% respectively.
According to sources, Yutong sold 1288 units new energy buses (mainly 10-plus meter) in the first quarter and received 0.35 billion yuan subsidies from government for the promotion of new energy buses, averagely 0.272 million yuan per unit. In Dongguan city purchase project of 600 units plug-in hybrid electric buses, Yutong won an order of 0.52 billion yuan. The sales increase of new energy buses will make up the sales decline of traditional large buses caused by the adjustment of buses sales structure. The sales of large buses is 2062 units in June, down by 0.7% year on year.
During Jane to May 2014, Yutong produced 3665 units LNG buses and 1382 units plug-in hybrid electric buses, sharing the market by 18.9% and 48.5% respectively, both ranking the first in the bus industry. However, the production of pure electric buses is 40 units sharing only 3.4% of the market. Dedicated in improving new energy bus production line, Yutong will launch E7 pure electric buses in the second half year of 2014. Compared with the same-length diesel buses, it is expected that E7 will save 155yuan/100km fuel cost, which is a remarkable price competitiveness. It is expected that the sales of E7 in the second half year will reach 2000 units. Meanwhile, Yutong will transfer lightweight technology into large and medium electric buses then put them on the market. The sales increase of pure electric buses will be the main cause to the sales increase of new energy buses in the second half year.
