According to some insiders, Nanjing Public Transport Group and Nanjing King Long Bus Co., Ltd. will jointly provide 900 new energy buses for the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) to be held in Nanjing. Before the opening ceremony of the games expected to be held on Aug. 16, all the eco-friendly vehicles will be delivered for official operation.
According to some staff from the bus maker, Xiamen-based King Long holds a small amount of shares of the company. Juding from King Long"s annual report in 2013, the company held 9% shares of Nanjing King Long Bus Co., Ltd.
As the second Summer Youth Olympic Games is going to be held in Nanjing on Aug. 16, all eco-friendly buses will be put into operation for providing transport services for athletes and coaches.
It is also revealed that Nanjing city purchased 2,530 units of new buses in 2014. Among them, 1,058 units are environmentally friendly new energy buses. Nanjing King Long Bus Co., Ltd. is the major supplier for Nanjing Public Transport Group this year.
