On Aug. 7, Dai Yuan, the deputy secretary of Changzhou CPC Standing Committee held a talk with Brazil-based Marcopolo Bus Co., Ltd. led by Ruben Antonio Bisi, the company"s Strategic Director in the city"s administrative center.
Set up in 1949, Marcopolo Bus Co., Ltd. is now the largest bus maker in the South American nation. Having established strategic cooperative ties with Benz, Iveco, Scania and other globally well-renowned chassis manufacturers, Marcopolo now boasts 19 bus production factories around the world.
In Oct., 2005, Marcopolo registerd a bus spare part company in Changzhou Hi-tech Zone, which is devoted to the production and sales of bus spare parts and bodies. While sending its officials to make current visit, the bus maker is planning to initiate a whole-body bus and chassis production project, which is expected to roll out 1,500 units buses and 3,000 bus chassis annually when it"s completed. The products are going to be exported to Southeast Asia, Australia, Russia, the Middle East, Africa, Hong Kong and Taiwan, etc.
During the meeting with Ruben Antonio Bisi, Dai Yuan expressed his hope that the two parties can further speed up their cooperation and help the project realize production. With thousands of enterprises involved in producing auto spare parts in Changzhou and the surrounding cities as well as the sound vocational eduction, Dai Yuan also showed his confident that a win-win situation will be created for both parties.
