According to Ankai vice deputy manager Xiong Liangping, Ankai New Energy Base will be put into operation before the Spring Festival 2015, which is expected to produce 6,000 units of new energy buses, 12,000 units of key powertrain and 15,000 units of new energy bus key powertrain, which values at 8,100,000,000 RMB becoming the most influential new energy bus manufacturing base and technology research and development center.
Ankai new energy buses have covered the types of electric, plug-in hybrid and fuel cell. So far, over 2,400 units of Ankai electric buses are in test operation in more than 30 cities including Beijing, Shanghai and Dalian. In the electric industry, Ankai has been delivering outstanding performance in operation scale, time and mileage.
In addition, Ankai has been approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology to build the first and only electric bus integrated engineering technology research center, once completed, Ankai will be capable of independent development, manufacture and assembly.
