According to the latest statistics, China rolled out 13,500 units of new energy vehicles in Mar., 2015, which is nearly four times the amount produced in the same period last year. Among them, the number of electric passenger vehicles stood at 6,986 units, four times larger than that in the same month last year. The number of plug-in hybrid passenger vehicles totaled 3,288 units, up by 400% year on year. The number of electric commercial vehicles registered at 2,465 units, up by nearly 300%. The number of plug-in hybrid commercial vehicles amounted to 791 units, down by 27% year on year. In addition, a total number of 10,970 units of new energy vehicles produced in March, falling under the category of the three types of new energy vehicles, are exempt from vehicle purchasing tax.
In the first quarter, China produced 25,400 units of new energy vehicles in total, up by 300% year on year. In the same period, the number of electric passenger vehicles stood at 11,100 units, up by 400% year on year; the number of plug-in hybrid passenger vehicles reached 7,257 units, up by nearly 500% year on year; the electric commercial vehicle registered at 4,635 units, up by nearly 500%; the plug-in hybrid commercial vehicles totaled 2,374 units, up by 61% year on year.
