As China’s first bus brand making its entry to South Korea, Sunlong has attracted widespread public attention in the country. Recently, Chen Dacheng, president of Sunlong was interviewed by the well-renowned KBS and the president shared the bus maker’s experience in making its way into South Korea. Also during the interview, Mr. Chen elaborated on the current development of China’s bus industry, the challenges and opportunities faced by Sunlong. “China has made substantial progress in terms of bus manufacturing and vehicle performances after over two decades fast development. Strategically located in Shanghai, China’s financial center, Sunlong are blessed with unprecedented business opportunities. In recent years, the bus maker has made impressive achievements in Southeast Asia, West Africa, and South America. Moreover, the company takes great pride in successfully making its way to South Korean market. Our success is definitely not possible without constant supports from both Chinese and South Korean governments, the continued hard work of our local agents in South Korea as well as the recognition we have won from our customers in the nation,” proudly says the president.

Commenting on the disbelief expressed by most South Korean media about Sunlong’s high-profile entry into the market, Li Ming, Deputy General Manager of Sunlong, has his own understanding. “It is just difficult not to feel the enthusiasm permeated in the nation for China-South Korea Free Trade Zone. On the back of the fast growing bilateral ties between the two neighboring countries and the professional commitment shown by our agent team in the country, Sunlong has quickly found its niche market. By avoiding directly rivaling against the indigenous auto makers, Sunlong has been seeking a unique development road by meeting local customers’ unsatisfied demands for tailor-made bus products,” says Mr. Li.

Before entering a specific overseas market, Sunlong usually attaches great emphasis on researching the local customers and their unique needs. Thanks to this, the bus maker rolled out a brand new bus CTBOO at this year’s Seoul International Exhibition in Apr. after the great success of its bus model DUEGOEX. Currently, most of the buses operated on the artery bus routes are large ones measuring over nine meters in length in major cities in South Korea. Sunlong’s CTBOO bus, measuring 7.7 meters in length, taps into the huge business potential of medium buses. Despite its shorter body length, the vehicle is readily able to compete with 9-meter bus in terms of its passenger loading capacity. What’s more, CTBOO successfully cuts fuel consumption by 20% when compared with 9-meter buses.
