In response to the central government’s ambitious “Blue Sky” initiative, Shangqiu, in central China’s Henan Province, is now working hard to replace its obsolete and heavily polluting bus fleet with green buses. The city has ordered 310 units of full electric buses from Yutong, which arrived in the city in the past three days.
According to Zhang Weifeng, Deputy Manager of Shangqiu Public Transport Company, the whole green bus fleet will soon be put on over ten bus routes in the city after the construction of all supportive facilities needed for the electric bus operation. The 310 units of Yutong full electric buses, are believed to provide more convenient and more environmentally friendly transport services for the local citizens. The arrival of such a formidable Yutong electric bus fleet will greatly improve the Shangqiu city’s public transport.
