At a conference held in Beijing on Sept. 9 that celebrates Ankai bus fleet’s impressive performances on the Victory Day Parade at Tian’anmen Square, officials from the bus maker revealed that the company has secured a stock of 400 buses on order from the military . Thanks to its robust growth in new energy bus sector, it has so far accumulated a request of 2,500 buses this year.
Since January 2015, some high-ranking military officials have been considering to purchase customer-tailored buses for those honored soldiers who fought bravely during China’s war against Japanese invasion and were invited to participate in the victory day parade. After a cut-throat competition with other seven counterparts, Ankai stood out in the end and was selected to shoulder such a special task. According to the bus maker, about 200 various types of Ankai buses provided services for the Victory Day Parade. Among them, 40 Ankai Best coaches were refurbished to serve two formations of those distinguished soldiers who once fought with their lives against Japanese invaders.
According to Dai Maofang, President of Ankai Bus, the company has been maintaining a fast growing momentum since the start of this year. Due to the shortage of lithium batteries in the first half of this year, it expects to see a sharp increase in its production and sales of new energy buses in the latter half of this year.
