The Sales of New Energy Buses Rose for the Third Month in Succession

According to the latest statistics, the sales volume of new energy vehicles in China reached 33,720 units (including 657 units lead-acid powered electric vehicles) in September, up by 231.4% year on year. From Jan. to Sept. this year, the accumulated sales of new energy vehicles reached 164, 621 units, up by 328.1% year on year.

From Jan. to Sept. this year, the accumulated sales of new energy vehicles reached 164, 621 units, up by 328.1% year on year. According to some insiders, the overall sales of the eco-friendly vehicles may break 200,000 units in 2015.


In the third quarter this year, the new energy bus industry maintained robust growing momentum. In the meantime, the total production volume stood at 26,867 units, which doubles the amount registered in the second quarter. The listed bus makers all expect better-than-expected performances.


In Sept., China"s production volume of new energy buses went up by 230% year on year. In the first nine months this year, the total production volume of eco-friendly buses stood at 47,000 units, up by 330% year on year. Till Sept. this year, the accumulated production volume of new energy buses reached 165,000 units.


In Sept., the production volume of new energy passenger vehicles reached 19,000 units, accounting for 1.2% of the overall production volume of passenger vehicles. In the meantime, the production volume of new energy buses registered at 11,000 units, accounting for 23.1% of the overall production volume of buses, up by four percentage points compared with that in August. In the first nine months of this year, the total production volume of the new energy buses reached 47,000 units. 


The production and sales volume of BYD Tang continued its rising momentum. According to the statistics released by the Passenger Vehicle Association, BYD"s production and sales volume of Tang vehicle reached 3,137 units and 3,044 units respectively, delivering once again a big jump when compared with those in August. Thanks to its high maneuverability and eco-friendliness, the vehicle is now rising in an unstoppable manner across the whole nation, indicating that BYD"s PHEV vehicles have become increasingly recognized by the market and customers. It is also learnt that in Sept., BYD"s sales volume of new energy passenger vehicles break 6,000 unit barrier, reaching 6,013 units. 


In Sept., King Long ranked the top place in China"s bus industry with its new energy bus production volume reaching 2,782 units. It is the second time for the bus maker to obtain such an honor after it made to the first place in Aug. this year. Yutong, with a production volume of 2,279 units new energy buses in Sept., ranked the second place. Zhongtong made to the third place with its production volume of new energy buses reaching 1,167 units. In the first three quarters, the total production volume of the top three players, namely Yutong, King Long and Zhongtong reached 11,289 units, 10,599 units, and 5,377 units respectively. More noticeable is that in the third quarter alone, the production volume of new energy buses of the top three bus makers all exceeded the combined production volume of theirs in the earlier half of this year, showing the marketing is performing far more better than market expectations.
