At 10:18am on March 2, Nanjing Golden Dragon Bus Co., Ltd. (hereafter refers to as Nanjing Golden Dragon) held a grand ceremony to mark the construction of Wuhan new energy bus production base at Hannan District Tonghang Industrial Park.
As early as 2011, under the guidance of Nanjing Municipal Government, Nanjing Golden Dragon achieved its restructure formally. Closely following the government's development strategies and aiming high at pushing forward the growth of the industry, Nanjing Golden Dragon has been committed to the research and development of new energy vehicles. In 2012, its first generation of 300 units new energy buses were put into operation. Next year, 500 units such vehicles were delivered to its customers. In 2014, Nanjing Golden Dragon's sales volume of new energy buses soared to 1,890 units, ranking the second place among its counterparts in China. Last year, Nanjing Golden Dragon produced and sold 8,796 units buses. It realized a sales revenue of 5.5 billion RMB and a profit of 500 million RMB. In China's new energy electric commercial vehicle market, Nanjing Golden Dragon maintained its second position.
In August of 2015, Nanjing Golden Dragon officially set up its Business Division in Wuhan, planning to build its modern new energy bus production base with an annual production volume of 10,000 units new energy buses and 5,000 sets key spare parts. With a total investment of 5.1 billion RMB, the company aims to realize an annual sales of 20 billion RMB. The bus maker also hopes that its presence in Wuhan will generate a pooling effect, bringing more enterprises involved in the production key spare parts of new energy buses to central China. By forming a sound industrial chain, it is set to push the emerging industry to a new development stage in central China.
