At 2016 NPC and CPPCC sessions, the most eye-catching vehicle is undoubtedly Yutong E10 electric buses, which made their way to the annual NPC and CPPCC sessions for the first time.
According to 2025 Made-in-China Initiative, China aims to reach an annual sales volume of three million new energy buses, which are internationally competitive. In the meantime, the percentage of new energy buses is expected to rise to over 80% in the domestic market at that time. Besides, in CPC Central Committee"s Recommendations for the Thirteenth Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development, the promotion of new energy vehicles was put high on the agenda. Given above, it is not hard to conclude that new energy vehicles are expected to become the new pillar for the national economic growth in the near future.
On February 24, at an executive meeting of the State Council presided by Premier Li Keqiang, a number of measures were rolled out to further push the development of new energy vehicle industry. It is made clear that the development of new energy vehicles, making them highly competitive in the global market, is not only conducive to the protection and improvement of urban environment, it is also indispensable for the nation"s economic transition.
Along with the implementation of a number of favorable policies since 2013, China"s annual production volume of new energy vehicles jumped from 17,000 units to 379,000 units in 2015, registering an average annual growth rate of nearly 400%. In fact, China has long become the world"s largest new energy bus market. Last year, China sold 70,000 units new energy buses, way ahead of any other countries across the globe.
At this year"s NPC and CPPCC sessions, Yutong E10 electric buses, operated by Beiqi Group, are made available to transport delegates between their hotels and the conference venue. As the first new energy bus ever appearing at such a high-profile event, it shows that Yutong new energy buses have reached a highly advanced level and thus have successfully won the confidence of the transportation service provider for the highly publicized event. In the coming years, it will surely become a norm instead of just an exception for new energy buses working for the NPC and CPPCC sessions.
In terms of the promotion of new energy buses, Yutong has always been playing a leading role in the field. As early as 2008, Yutong new energy buses realized commercialization. Last year, the bus maker sold 20,446 units new energy buses, the first and only company in the whole world to make such an impressive achievement. As of the end of 2015, Yutong ranked the first place in China with an accumulated sales of 34,276 units new energy buses in 224 cities across the nation.
