At the ceremony, Aristóbulo Istúriz delivered a keynote speech, saying that Yutong Venezuelan Factory has helped the country to kick off its national economic development strategy known as Bolívar Economic Plan. The factory will not only meet the huge demand in the country’s transportation sector. More importantly, it has helped other 43 spare parts suppliers grow even more robustly and pushed forward the development of eleven new areas. “As the first batch of 100 Yutong buses goes off the production line in our country, I feel extremely proud,” the vice president told all participants at the ceremony.

It is revealed that all the 100 units having been assembled are Yutong ZK6896HGA city buses. Currently, 95 units have already been put into operation. With the rest five units to be put on the road soon, they all are shouldering heavy transportation tasks across the whole nation, including Caracas, the capital city of Venezuela.

Yutong Venezuelan KD Factory is a key cooperation project for China and Venezuela. The cooperative agreement was signed under the witness of Venezuelan President Maduro when Xi Jinping was paying a state visit to the country in July 2014. The factory is also the first one with the direct investment from Yutong, China’s leading bus maker. In December 2015, the factory started official operation and Venezuelan President Maduro also attended the opening ceremony by driving Yutong buses himself. With flexible production lines, the factory is able to produce various kinds of buses measuring 8-12 meters in length. With an annual production capacity of 3,600 units inter-city buses, city buses and school buses, the factory will also export its products to all countries in Latin America.

Since its entry into South America at the end of 2003, Yutong has now established its presence in 20 countries in this region. So far, a total number of over 15,000 Yutong buses have been exported to this region, accounting for over 50% of all the large- and medium-sized buses working there that are made in China.

As a formidable force on the international bus market, Yutong is now leading all bus makers in China in their exploration in the overseas market. Last year, it ranked the first place in China with a total export volume of 7,018 units buses. So far, it has successfully set up six major markets, including Europe-US market, the Middle East, Latin America, Russian-speaking countries, and Africa. Now, Yutong branded buses can be seen in over 130 countries and regions across the globe, including the UK, France, Israel, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Algeria, Angola, and Ghana, etc.
