In early March, 155 units new generation environmentally friendly Foton AUV BJ6802, also nicknamed as the Star on Tibetan Plateau were officially put into operation. Specially made for the areas with high altitude, these coaches, together with over 50 units high-end business vehicles will provide much safer, more comfortable and more environmentally friendly travel experiences for all tourists traveling in this region, bringing the bus fleet on the travel market to a new height.
To help their vehicles achieve the highest standards while working in this geographically challenging environment, Foton AUV have done a number of experiments and tests. To make their vehicles better cope with the mountainous roads, dirt roads, grit roads, expressway, and various other road conditions, as well as to meet Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Bus Technological Standards (JT/T963-2015), Foton AUV set up high safety standards, high stability standards, high comfort level, and high practicability while developing BJ6802.
Also, BJ6802 went through six stringent tests, including emission, engine performance, engine emission, fuel evaporation & emission, and durability, all of which were conducted at Foton"s Vehicle Performance Testing Laboratory, the only one in China. In addition, BJ6802"s integral body structure, which was independently developed by the Foton, has already obtained EU ECER66 Bus Structure Rigidity Certificate. In addition, the 4D Protective Technology solely developed by Foton AUV pushes the safety standards of BJ6802 to an unparalleled height. Drivers of the coach will encounter less troubles, passengers of the coach can all set their heart and mind more at ease, and coach operators will all be pleased with the performances of the vehicle.
The first BJ6802 was rolled out in December, 2015. Then, the coach went through a reliability test, driving 7,000 km in 30 days. Successfully overcome all the difficulties posed by the hostile weather conditions and formidable road conditions, BJ6802 traveled a distance of 7,417 km in total and drove up to a maximum altitude of over 5,400 meters. The coach"s impeccable performance has won the hearts of drivers and bus engineers from China"s National Bus Quality Supervision and Testing Center.
